USE CASES · CORTEX
Commercial intelligence software for corporate teams
Give risk and business decisions a clear intelligence basis.
CORTEX helps corporate intelligence, risk and protective-security teams turn business questions into reviewed assessments. Manage requirements, source permissions, retained evidence and analytical challenge in one workflow, then distribute a versioned report to an approved audience. Teams can revisit an assessment when market or threat reporting changes, with the original sources, reasoning and distribution record still available.
Market-risk assessment and report refresh
Example workflow: a corporate risk team assesses whether a change in an operating market should alter a business decision. Record the question, deadline and information gaps, review existing holdings and source terms, then plan any authorised acquisition. Compare explanations using retained passages and state uncertainty. Release a reviewed assessment to the internal decision-makers and use feedback or later reporting to commission a documented refresh.
01 · Business intelligence requirements and RFIs
Connect each research task to a business question, decision point, deadline and accountable owner. Record priorities and handling requirements, and link supporting information needs to the main requirement so the team can see what the assessment must answer.
Use an internal RFI to check existing holdings before commissioning more research. Record nil, refusal or referral outcomes as well as answers. The requirement owner decides when the remaining gaps justify closure or further work.
02 · Source licensing and collection permissions
Record source provenance, restrictions, reliability and permitted use. Collection plans connect the reviewed source and requirement to an eligible collector and time window, helping teams manage acquisition alongside contractual and licensing obligations.
Establish rights for paid reporting, personal data and third-party material before use. Application review records the agreed permissions; it does not grant a source licence. Shared reporting origins remain relevant when assessing whether sources independently corroborate a claim.
03 · Traceable research and retained evidence
Retain original documents and datasets with integrity hashes and acquisition context. Supported inputs include TXT, PDF, DOCX, CSV and JSON within the documented limits. Citations resolve to retained passages rather than relying on a file that may later change.
Keep extraction separate from interpretation. Analysts record credibility, gaps and reasons for accepting or correcting suggestions. When material is reprocessed, earlier citations stay attached to their retained version, supporting later report review.
04 · Structured analysis for corporate risk
Compare hypotheses, assumptions and alternative explanations using supporting and contradictory evidence. Separate assessed likelihood from analytical confidence, and record significant disagreement so decision-makers can understand the strength and limits of the assessment.
Competing-hypotheses methods, time-bounded judgements and independent review support repeatable corporate analysis. PHIA probability terminology can provide a consistent vocabulary for uncertainty where adopted, without requiring a military reporting model.
05 · Controlled AI-assisted dataset reporting
Prepare a model-assisted first draft from one ready CSV extraction linked to the requirement. An analyst reviews and edits the output before saving the report and submitting it through the normal review and release process.
Agree the model, provider, permitted inputs and external transfers before use. Human review, source permissions and distribution controls remain in place. Assistance is scoped to an approved drafting task rather than autonomous business recommendations.
06 · Corporate intelligence reports and distribution
Create a Brief, Assessment or Intelligence Assessment with citations, an information-as-of date and limitations. Export the exact saved revision as PDF, DOCX or JSON, while keeping working drafts separate from authorised distribution.
Independent approval applies to the report content and selected internal audience. Client-facing or public reporting requires separately established sharing authority. Recipient acknowledgement gives the team a record beyond publication alone.
07 · Assessment refresh and decision feedback
Record recipient acknowledgement and feedback on usefulness, timeliness, gaps and corrections. When new reporting changes the assessment, return to its original citations and reasoning before preparing a revised analysis and report.
Retain the previous assessment and explain changes in judgement. Review-due warnings prompt attention, while owners decide whether to reopen, retask or create a follow-on requirement. This supports a repeatable assessment-refresh workflow.
08 · Post-quantum protection for commercial intelligence
Protect sensitive corporate research with ML-KEM, ML-DSA and independently keyed double AES-256 (dAES). Post-quantum security supports the long-term confidentiality and integrity of intelligence used in risk and protective-security decisions.
Assess identity, access revocation, key custody, backups, recovery and external services for the deployment. Agree retention, source permissions and integration requirements alongside security, so the platform fits the organisation’s operating model.
Example workflows illustrate the documented capabilities. Deployment acceptance, lawful use and accreditation are assessed for each organisation and environment.
